Abstract

The aim of this work is to propose a new approach for dealing with histogram data in symbolic data analysis framework. The idea is to approximate histogram data using B-spline functions in order to synthetize the information within data trough some characteristic function parameters. This parameters will be the new data that could be, subsequently, analyzed with methodologies of multidimensional data analysis. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2011.
