Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the efficiency levels of leadership and administration behaviors of Mayors who have been elected with local election in their own region according to the opinions of employees. In this depictive research, universal screening model has been used. In the research, Heads of Departments, Department Chiefs and Unit Managers holding office in Metropolitan Municipality and County Municipalities in Ankara in 2012 have been surveyed. The sample of the research is formed by 150 employees. In the survey, social, ethical and political leadership features of Mayors have been examined. In the analysis of the data obtained from research, SPSS statistic program has been used. Data has been analyzed using frequency (f), percentage (%), arithmetic average (x) and standard deviation (sd) according to the purposes. When findings obtained after the analysis of data are examined; it has been seen that Mayors have all of the three standards examined. Besides, it has been determined that the opinions of the people in managerial level holding office in Units of Municipality don’t have meaningful discrepancies in terms of independent variables (gender, branch, seniority).
