Abstract

Criteria for evaluating the success of an archaeological survey vary. Although no significant sites were located within the impoundment of the proposed Wabo hydroelectric dam, three sites were located outside the impoundment. However to excavate these sites would present considerable mechanical as well as logistic problems. The current survey lists sites of potential archaeological significance, as they appeared from a single limited field trip. More intensive research could possibly discover more sites. It is also possible that no sites of significance have been missed during the present survey, although that is very doubtful. -from Authors
