Abstract

As advances are made in integrating persons with disabilities into mainstream society, the role of the professional and the volunteer becomes more complex and more important. Group homes, recreation organizations, and educational institutions require persons trained to assist the disabled without getting in their way, without unwittingly becoming barriers themselves.
