Abstract

Seamless transition: New hybrid fullerene-like nanostructures of MoS 2 are comprised of a nanoscale octahedral core with a smooth transition to quasi-spherical outer shells. The particles were generated by ultra-high irradiance solar ablation and their structures confirmed by modeling studies. © 2011 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim.
