Self-help activities are essential components within optimal health care. Evidence that underlie the positive effects of self-help activities on functional ability and quality of life in patients with rheumatic diseases exist. However, the determinants of passive and active participation in self-help activities for patients with rheumatism and their relatives in Germany are unknown. In this context, a secondary analysis of the RheumaDat Panel was conducted to supply data on the predictors of participation in self-help activities.
