Abstract

The early 1990s marked a special interest for the sphere of culture, of "cultural difference" and of "intercultural competence ". Culture and interculturality have become a breeding ground for social and political issues, the effect of which is felt in the action field of cultural-scientific theory, social practice and political decisions. Therefore, the hereby paper aims to present aspects related to the structure and particularities of human communication, which will subsequently help to familiarize with verbal and nonverbal signals, levels and styles of communication. In the process of intercultural communication, the connection between culture and communication is crucial along with a number of factors, which in the interaction with people from another culture, contribute to the success of the communication. At the same time, there are presented techniques for identifying and mitigating the misunderstandings and conflicts arising in the communication.
