The very first text dealing exclusively with a pediatric neurosurgical subject, “Brain tumors in infancy and childhood”, was published in 1936 by Dandy. The second major book dedicated to pediatric neurosurgery, “Neurosurgery of Infancy and Childhood”, was written by Ingraham and Matson in 1954
