In the last few years, the demand for technologies and methodologies for supporting dynamic and open Multiagent Systems has increased. Thus, several approaches for reorganization in Multiagent Systems have emerged to dynamically adapt agent organizations. Current approaches for reorganization provide support to allow agents to enter or exit the system, to change the roles played by agents, to modify the norms that regulate the system, etc. In an effort to identify the dearth of support in current approaches, this paper presents a comparison and analysis of the most relevant approaches for reorganization. Then, after an evaluation, we indicate some future research lines with regard to reorganization in Multiagent Systems. © 2011 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.
