Recent data demonstrate that reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation is a key modulator of bone cell behavior and that oxidative stress status impacts the pathophysiology of mineralized tissues. A growing body of evidence suggests that manipulation of the redox balance in bone cells may be a useful strategy for the design of treatments of bone diseases.
