The purpose of the study is to determine the level of stress and different coping mechanisms used by parents of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder on pre-training and post-training tests. A researcher-developed training module was used to impart training to enhance the coping mechanisms used by parents to reduce their level of stress. A sample of 100parents of one child with Autism Spectrum Disorder was taken. They were administered on Parental Stress Index and Family Crisis Oriented Personal Evaluation Scales (F-COPES). The study utilized a quantitative approach, using Means, Standard Deviation and t –test in analysing data. Results reveal that parents of autistic children differed significantly on coping strategies and level of stress after the training.
