Abstract

Wavelet-based reversible transform encoding for image encoding, mainly Haar wavelet, is considered for various treatments in the entire span of the chapter. Basic details of Haar wavelet computations with 2 x 2 mask are given importance with information flow analysis for image encoding and authentication. Multilevel wavelet transformation has also been discussed. One-dimensional and two-dimensional examples for wavelet decomposition with inverse computation are given in detail. A complete encoding and decoding algorithm of color image authentication using Haar wavelet is given with results and analysis. Applications of wavelet are given at end of the chapter.
