The results of the Basic Health Research (Riskesdas) in 2018 stated that the smoking behavior of the Indonesian population at the age of 15 years and above, by 34.2% increased to 36.3% in 2018. Indonesia especially in Lampung is the province with the second largest number of smokers after Riau province which reached 28.7%. Smokers at the age of more than 10 years found 27.1% smoked every day, but 5.6% smoked in a relatively rare period of time. Besides teenagers who smoke usually for the sake of acceptance in a group of peers. The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship of peers to smoking behavior in SMP Negeri in Way Kanan Regency.This study uses a cross sectional study design. The research population was all students of Class VII and VIII in SMP Negeri in Way Kanan Regency with a total of 62 students. Sample 62 people. Data collection using a questionnaire filled directly by respondents, univariate data analysis and bivariate analysis using the Chi square test.The results showed that respondents with peer influence were 47 respondents (75.8%). The frequency distribution of respondents who smoke is 32 respondents (51.6%). There was a peer relationship with smoking behavior in Class VII and VIII students of SMP Negeri in Way Kanan Regency (p value 0.012. OR 6.4). Suggestions in this study need to be done by the school's strict supervision of students' smoking habits as well as providing strict sanctions for those found smoking in the school environment so it is expected to create a deterrent effect for other students.
