This study aims to determine improvement of problem-solving abilities of 10th grade students of Senior High School 7 Bandung by implementing problem-based learning model on environmental change study. Problem-solving abilities measured using indicators such as comprehending the problem, making plans, implementing plans, and rechecking the results. This Classroom Action Research was carried out in two cycles in class X-D of Senior High School 7 Bandung. The concept which studied in Cycle I was the Soil Pollution, while the Water Pollution was studied during Cycle II. Student worksheets and tests were used as instruments to collect the data in this study. Data was further analyzed using n-gain and Wilcoxon tests. The results showed that implementation of problem-based learning model gave significant effect in improving problem-solving skills of students, revealed by increases of average n-gain from cycle I (0,68) to cycle II (0,76).
