Abstract

A proposta do artigo é analisar a contribuição do dominicano Bartolomé de Las Casas, no século XVI, e do jesuíta Alonso de Sandoval, no século XVII, na construção do discurso legitimador e regulador do tráfico e da escravidão dos negros.The aim of this paper is to analyze the contributions made by the Dominican Bartolomé de Las Casas, in the XVI century, and the Jesuit Alonso de Sandoval, in the XVII century, to legitimatize and regularize discourses about the slave trade and black slavery in the Spanish Americas.
