Abstract

Recently more and more people pay attention to software GPS receiver, because it provides a high level of flexibility and simplicity for many potential applications. The resulting software GPS receivers offer considerable flexibility in modifying settings to accommodate new applications without redesigning hardware, choosing an IF frequency, or implementing future upgrades. This paper introduces the design of a software-based receiver for L1-band civilian GPS applications, including the design of the RF front end based on MAX2769, the algorithms for the signal acquisition, tracking and positioning decoding, which are demonstrated. © 2011 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.
