An agent based model (ABM) has been designed, developed, and implemented for the obesity epidemic. The Obesity ABM has been shown to serve as a decision support system as well as for running in-silico experiments. Eight in-silico experiment were run with different experimental parameter setups. The results suggest that food prices is an effective strategy to reduce obesity compared to exercise, individual encounter, number of food source allocations, and advertisements. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2013.
