Objectives: The purpose of the study is to identify what dentists understand by the concept of informed consent and to provide solutions that need to be developed. Materials and Methods: Sixty dentists who are working in the university hospital were included the study The study was conducted on a questionnaire answered by the participants. The questionnaire was composed of two different divisions. The division that consists of Likerttype statements was analyzing to dentist feelings whether they are competent or incompetent during taking consent form and other division was describing the demographic characteristics. Results: The 40% of surveyed dentists were academician and 60% were specialists and specialist/ PhD student. The 51.7% of dentist were state that they are need to learn more about ethical and legal issues and 68.3% of them had partially adequate information about informed consent. The 71.7% of participants was stated that it would be appropriate to signing the consent form by the patient and physician together. Conclusions: The results suggest that the knowledge of the dentist about consent form is inadequate and education of ethics is needed. It is due to inadequate ethics training in schools of density in our country.
