Abstract

Increasing dependencies in today‘s value chains and innovative business models are causing the organizational boundaries between product-related tasks and services to become increasingly blurred. This article attempts to show systematically how digital twins can be designed in the context of cross-company business models and applications. We distinguish five different forms of digital twins and examine approaches for their implementation.
