Outlines the geomorphology of the Duplin River watershed, Georgia, of which c80% of its 11km2 is salt marsh and mud flat, emphasizing the significance of the tidal creeks, levees, erosional forces and the biota (in facilitating sedimentation, reworking of sediments, etc.). Physical conditions and the water chemistry of the Sapelo Marsh are noted, with emphasis placed on organic matter enrichment. -P.J.Jarvis
