Abstract

Because incarceration is common, all femoral hernias should be repaired. This chapter describes several open approaches (low, intermediate, and high) for repair of femoral hernias. Indications, preoperative preparation, pitfalls and danger points, operative strategy and technique, postoperative care, and complications are all detailed.
