Abstract

The primary function of radio-frequency identification (RFID) technology is automated identification and data capture (AIDC). RFID systems are widely applied in current industries due to guarantee of decrease in cost and size and increase in reliability and performance. New industrial revolution, as known as Industry 4.0, is based on the evolutions and conversions of core technologies, such as Internet of Things, big data, artificial intelligence, mobile, and cloud. This article aims to address and review the core technologies of Industry 4.0 studies on the viewpoint of RFID. The article classifies role of RFID technologies in IoT, big data, and other areas. Moreover, this article provides an insight of potentiality of RFID technology in Industry 4.0. The sources of this study are most recent journal papers, conference papers, and web references.
