This article analyzes the story of Tsura from a biographical and narrative perspective in which the horizontal relationship between researcher and participant is one of the keys to the dialogue. Issues related to emancipation, resilience and mediation work are also examined from a personal and professional dimension. The story respects the voice of the protagonist, which is silenced in other research, thus giving meaning to the role of subjectivity as contextualized knowledge. An analysis of the story helps us to understand and reflect on questions of concern to Tsura; a female gypsy and intercultural mediator in marginal educational contexts, as well as to determine the keys that shape the debate on emancipation, multiculturalism and gender in educational institutions from the perspective of mediation. At the same time, the story reveals the importance of Tsura's involvement in her own training and the processes she undertakes to rethink culture, construct and reconstruct her identity and her strategies of resilience in professional practice.
