Abstract
The aim of this chapter is to raise a number of questions that may contribute to the future understanding of the impact that the New Archaeology had on archaeological research programs developed in Argentina during the 1970s and 1980s. Far from attempting to define or to criticize of the movement identified as New Archaeology, our intention is to contribute a study that may help to clarify how this movement was understood in Argentina. © 2005 Kluwer Academic/Plenum Publishers, New York.
