The purpose of this study was to find out the different levels of papaya leaf extract (Carica papaya L.) in drinking water from the performance of the starter period Arabian rooster, parameters observed were ration consumption, body weight gain, feed conversion, and mortality. This research was conducted in March to May 2016 in Sidoarjo Village, West Lubuklinggau II District, Lubuklinggau City. 96 DOC (Day Old Chicken) of silver Arabian male chicken was used. This research is experimental with non- factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 6 treatment levels, each treatment repeated 4 times. Data obtained were analyzed statistically using diversity analysis, followed by the Least Significance Different (BNT) test. The six treatments are distinguished based on the level of papaya leaf extract in drinking water, namely: P1 = 1 ml, P2 = 3 ml, P3 = 5 ml, P4 = 7 ml, P5 = 9 ml and P0 as control. The results showed that the addition of papaya leaf extract in drinking water with different levels had a very significant effect (P> 0.01) on feed consumption parameters (P5 = 1766.62 gram / tail vs. P1 = 1391.70 gram / head) and body weight gain for male Arabian chickens (P5 = 483.19 grams / head vs. P1 = 328.75 grams / head), and it has no significant effect (P <0.05) on ration conversion rates. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that treatment P5 with the addition of 9 ml papaya leaf extract in drinking water gave the best results on the parameters of ration consumption and weight gain of Arabian rooster
