We developed a method for estimating a dancer's performance level through motion analysis of video-captured dance action. The estimation is carried out by relating subjective evaluation results of dancers’ performance with motion features automatically extracted through off-the-shelf video processing. The motion features are rhythm elements of dance action. As a result, these rhythm elements are found to yield a strong correlation with the subjective evaluation of performance levels. Key
