Abstract

The Korean peninsula has had a long history of emigration, with overseas Koreans being one of the biggest migrant communities in the world today. This chapter focuses on the situation of Korean emigrants, the drivers behind their mobility, and the policies that the state (with a focus on the South Korean government) is taking to ensure their mobility and protection.
