Abstract

This chapter provides an overview of the major epigenetic mechanisms, such as DNA methylation, histone modifi cations, and miRNA, and describes those epigenetic mechanisms that are altered in non- CDH1 associated familial gastric cancer. Moreover, we also discuss the clinical implications of the epigenome characterization for this familial gastric cancer setting, regarding its potential in therapy.
