Abstract

Existing limitations and problems in the current life-cycle of software applications will encourage new development paradigms. New technological trends, aiming at responding to current needs, such as flexibility, dynamicity, scalability will certainly drive the envisaged changes. In this paper, possible solutions for innovative enterprise information systems (IS) development and maintenance are outlined. In particular, it will be argued about business process driven approach to information systems development, and how, through the support of new and emerging technologies, it can address nowadays requirements and overcome current limits.
