Abstract

To improve the reality of river visual in inland river ship simulator and meet real time of rendering, a method based on concept and property of steam function for solving velocity of river surface was introduced. The method generated values of stream function with real bank of river, and introduced the algorithm of inverse distance weighted (IDW). The velocity can be generated effectively, and the algorithm can be suitable to solve velocity of river branch channel. Simulation results show that this method can reflect the real distribution of river velocity, and satisfy the demand of real time and improve the environment reality of river visual in inland river ship simulator.
