Abstract

Hyperglycemia in both type 1 and type 2 diabetes appears to set off a complex network of intracellular signaling mechanisms that lead to the characteristic microvascular complications of diabetes - retinopathy, nephropathy, and neuropathy. © 2010 Springer-Verlag US.
