Abstract

This paper presents the design and evaluation of a collaboration platform which enables secure information sharing and interaction across professional and organizational boundaries in the biosecurity domain. The platform integrates shared digital workspace and eAuthentication and eAuthorisation technologies in a multi-display environment. It aims to support the diagnosis and decision making meetings between committee members working in different laboratories and organizations in their cooperative work of emergency response on animal diseases. Results from a user study on the security features of the platform show that the integrated platform can provide the basis of trustworthy information sharing, particularly real-time information from laboratory instruments.
