Citreamicins, novel antibiotics from micromonospora citrea. Isolation, characterization, and structure determination

Abstract

A new family of antibacterial antibiotics has been isolated from Micromonospora citrea. The compounds, designated citreamicins α, β, γ, ζ and η are of the polycyclic xanthone structure type.
