Abstract

Reflection on interdisciplinary collaboration Institutional practices are called upon to change. The work of interdisciplinary collaboration, in conjunction with the patient and his family, requires coordination of multiple expertise of various professionals within the inevitable melee caused by complex medical and psychosocial situations. Interprofessional collaborative practices should probably be regarded as levers of change at the structural, cultural and clinical levels. In this paper, we pay close attention to the interdisciplinary meeting considered as a ritualized and structured moment of teamwork with hospitalized patients and their families. © De Boeck Supérieur.
