Abstract

Air quality under a changing climate is considered one of the main threats to sustainable development. To study the impact of climate change on regional air quality, climatic scenarios with high temporal and spatial resolution are needed. The interaction between the climate and the air quality over Europe is the main purpose of this study. The MM5/CHIMERE air quality modeling system was applied to the reference and to the future (IPCC SRES2) climate scenarios. The projected impacts pointed that climate change alone enhances ozone and PM10 levels in the atmosphere.
