Abstract

This paper analyzes different versions of Chinese and English “hot words of the year” in 2014 from phonology, morphology and meaning. Through contrastive analysis, it probes into both similarities and differences between Chinese and English hot words. It also tries to explore the new trends and interaction of two languages in the age of information and globalization.
