Abstract

British producer Cameron Mackintosh (b. 1946) became the chief exporter of large-scale, sung-through musicals that became known as megamusicals. His logo-driven marketing and ability to build a broad audience base to sustain long runs changed the way theatre is packaged for audiences domestically and globally.
