Entrepreneurship in Russia has seen a broad development over the past twenty years, but currently it is still being developed as one of the most important strategic resources and domestic sources of the development of national economy. This is evidenced by a high level of unemployment, low innovation activity of Russian enterprises and weak economic growth in comparison with other developing countries (Li 2008). Despite the presence of production factors – natural, human and investment resources, the process of formation of entrepreneurial environment in Russia is developing at a slow pace. The low level of entrepreneurship development in modern Russia is caused by the unfavorable corporate entrepreneurial environment determining the conditions for running business in the country. Therefore, the identification of the development factors of corporate entrepreneurial environment and the elaboration of measures for its development is relevant for modern Russia. Another serious problem of modern Russia is the adverse geopolitical situation associated with the introduction of sanction’s measures against the country and the response measures on its part. It threatens the national economic security of the Russian Federation. Perhaps this problem can be partially solved by developing entrepreneurship. The identification of the prospects for national economic security improvement, including the development of entrepreneurship, is relevant for modern Russia.
