Abstract

The role of microenvironmental interactions in lymphoma growth is increasingly being recognized but still poorly understood. In this issue of Blood, ,Rehm and colleagues used amouse model of aggressive B-cell lymphoma to show that the chemokine receptor CCR7 plays a pivotal role in homing of tumor cells into lymphoma-supporting niches in secondary lymphoid organs, and that lymphotoxin signaling is involved in a tumor-promoting reciprocal interaction between lymphoma cells and fibroblastic reticular cells in these niches.
