Abstract

This paper is about a new real-time rendering algorithm of visual endoscopy scene based on GPU parallel computing technology. Without decreasing the display precision of three-D image, this algorithm uses ray casting algorithm to reduce the amount of collected data of graphic hardware memory and applies GPU high-level parallel computing and the multiple data stream processing capacity in generating the ray and rendering fragment which are the most sophisticated parts of volume rendering. As for CT data of 512×512×355, in addition to ensuring the clear display of the image this algorithm can make the rendering speed faster than 40 fps. © 2011 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.
