Abstract

Lymphedema is a poorly understood condition and few physicians specialize on the disease. Misdiagnosis and incorrect treatment are common. Patients should be managed by health care providers focused on their condition. Because lymphedema does not fit easily into a specific medical discipline, patients are best treated in a multidisciplinary Lymphedema Center.
