Abstract

The current problems of urban mobility are related to the precariousness of collective transportation services and the prioritization of the use of individual motorized transport to the detriment of the collective. The objective of this study was to analyze, in the perceptions of the users of alternative transportation that make the route Campina Grande / Alagoa Nova, what factors determine their choice for this type of transportation. The methodology used was characterized as a kind of applied work, as aimed to generate knowledge for practical application, directed to the solution of specific problems involving truths and local interests. The results of the investigation revealed three issues that can be considered as determining factors in the users' perception of the choice of alternative transportation that makes the Campina Grande / Alagoa Nova - PB route. The ease of movement in a timely manner indicator related to the speed and carrying capacity; the welfare condition related to safety indicators; price and air conditioning; and the hygiene condition associated with the comfort and cleaning indicators.
