Abstract

Abstract: At the end of December 2019 in Wuhan, a cluster of patients were admitted to the hospital with initial diagnosis as pneumonia with the etiology remained unknown. After being traced back, they were linked to the traditional market in Wuhan that sell seafood and some animals. SARS-CoV2 was identified as a cause of this condition, with COVID-19 is the name of the disease. Both cough and fever are the main clinical symptoms of COVID-19. In general, clinical symptoms of COVID-19 is mild, but there were some patients as the disease progresses fall into severe conditions. The neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio is known to have the capability to describe the degree of disease in many clinical conditions. The escalation in the neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio is used as an independent marker for prognosis inpatient of COVID-19. Assessment of neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio could be taken into consideration in determining the more appropriate treatment inpatient thereby increasing the capacity of clinicians in the evaluation of COVID-19 patients.
