Abstract

The current study examines the impact of performance appraisal (PA) onorganizational citizenship behaviour (OCB) comprising of OCB directedtoward organization (OCBO) and OCB directed toward individuals (OCBI) inthe Islamic banks operating in Bangladesh. Using the convenience samplingmethod, data were collected through a structured questionnaire from themanagerial and non-managerial employees working at the branch level ofthese banks. The study explored that PA had a significant positive impact onOCB. Moreover, implications for human resource professionals andmanagers were discussed. Finally, the study mentioned the relevantlimitations for context generalization and recommended scope for futureinvestigations.
