Abstract

The purpose of this research was to investigate criteria of course evaluation which are proper for cyber university consortium in Korea. For the purpose of this study, two research problems were examined. First, what should be the sub-categories of the course evaluation criteria for the cyber university consortium? Second, what items should be developed for each sub-category of the criteria in the evaluation tool? The results of this study were as follows: First, professors as well as students agree the cyber university course evaluation should include 3 areas: (1) infra for course management in its nature, (2) student satisfaction, and (3) relevance of class management. And their weights should be reflected respectively. Second, the research suggested the sub-categories of the evaluation criteria as the following 5 areas: 'class design', 'communication', ' quality of learning contents', 'participation activities of students' and 'passion of lecturers'. Third, the areas and contents of questions should be properly revised and supplemented by considering the relevance and weight levels of the questions as for 15 evaluation questions of the current student survey and measures to evaluate scores of each question at different weights by the weigh level of each question are required to be considered. © 2012 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.
