Abstract

Ancient documents present a very precious cultural heritage, hence the need to preserve and protect it and fight against illegal copying and pirating in its numerical form. The watermarking presents a promising solution for the copyright protection of these documents. Considering the importance in the number of color images, we propose in this paper a watermarking approach of color images from ancient documents, which adapts to the characteristics and content of each image. It is also based on the principal component analysis, the wavelet packet decomposition, and the singular value decomposition. The recorded results have shown that our algorithm has a good invisibility and an excellent robustness against different attacks relative to ancient documents.
