Abstract

Domestic violence is a crime which may result in injury or even death for the victim,\rthere is need to understand to cause of domestic violence. Data are reviewed for a variety of\rstudies indicating that history of domestic violence to identify and evaluate different theories of\rdomestic violence. Explain how the theory of violence used dictates the response to domestic\rviolence. Identify domestic violence as intentional, learned behavior designed to achieve power\rand control over another. Crimes against women have roots in the male dominated socioeconomic,\rlegal and political order. Assaults on women are often visibly associated with their\rsocial status, their communal, and ethnic and caste identifies. Domestic Violence is one form of\rthe violence against women. Domestic violence occurs when a family member, partner or expartner\rattempts to physically or psychologically dominate or harm the other.
