Numeration is the key for students to access and understand the world and equip students with awareness and understanding of the important role of mathematics in the modern world. To give numeracy reinforcement to students, it is necessary to increase critical thinking skills and one of them is to familiarize students with the assignment of Numeracy AKM questions with 3 different cognitive levels (understanding, application, reasoning). The purpose of this study was to describe the critical thinking behavior of students in solving AKM numeracy questions with levels of understanding, application and reasoning. This research is a descriptive qualitative research with the stages of research are (1) giving AKM Numeral questions with 3 different cognitive levels (2) direct observation by noting and recording research subjects when solving problems, (3) describing students' critical thinking behavior based on the recordings videos and direct notes during the study along with the subject's answer sheets, (4) triangulated with interviews, and (5) concluded student's critical thinking behavior in solving problems. The result of this study is that numerical AKM questions with the understanding level are easier to do than the application and reasoning levels. And AKM Numeration at the application levels are easier than at the reasoning levels; The ability of student's math level greatly affects the ability to solve AKM Numeration questions; And there are still many students who have difficulty in working in the AKM Numeration questions. Researchers suggest that mathematics teachers try to strengthen the AKM Numeration questions in their learning.
