Debris flow is a natural geohazard in mountainous terrains showered with high annual rainfalls. This paper presents three case studies of debris flow in Peninsular Malaysia based on published literature/reports and personal involvement in one of the case studies by the principal author (Ting). The special features of debris flow, in contrast to other naturally occurring geohazards, are highlighted. © 2008 Science Press Beijing and Springer-Verlag GmbH Berlin Heidelberg Geotechnical Engineering for Disaster Mitigation and Rehabilitation.
