Abstract

Needs for an automation in a cell production line is recently increasing with an increasing number of aged people and an decreasing number of population. Since skilled workers are required more due to the nature of a cell production line, much attention is given to a dual arm robot as a solution for an automated cell production system. Dual arm robot can work in a very similar way with a human worker and thus it is very proper for a cell. This paper presents a design of a dual-arm robot for an application to the cell production line in packaging and assembling of IT products like cell phone, television and so on. A requirement for a design parameter is suggested and the design concept and some implementation results are proposed. © 2013 Springer-Verlag.
